Have you noticed more attitude, anxiety, withdrawal, or overwhelm in your child? Do you want your child to know how to respond in a way that promotes future wellbeing and mental strength?
I'm here for you! I teach kids and families resiliency skills through online classes & coaching
Kids learn how to be in control of their feelings and thoughts so that they can make good decisions with their behaviors, even after experiencing a big stressor in life.
Kids gain experience using the skills in everyday life, building genuine confidence and optimism to be able to say to themselves "I've got this" when taking on new challenges.
Resilience isn't just about the individual child, it includes healthy, supportive relationships. Kids will get clearer about how their actions matter and can positively impact others.
All of us experience challenges and transitions in life, both big and small. Naturally, we respond in ways that makes us more comfortable. However, not all responses are equally beneficial. Kids need to be taught healthy ways to respond to stress and challenges so that they do not turn toward ineffective or even harmful coping strategies. Even more, kids need to understand that they matter and their choices have an impact on those around them. As parents, we want to guide our kids to be future adults who know how to adapt to all kinds of situations and still thrive with joy and kindness.
You have a great impact on your own child's development, well-being, and resilience. Resilience is the ability to rise above the inevitable stress and challenges that are faced in life with optimism and confidence. I believe resilience is more than just “bouncing back,” it is also becoming your best, and it is accelerated in a healthy family environment. With weak resilience, however, there is greater risk for anxiety, depression, and conduct problems. A lack of family communication and cohesiveness contributes to the erosion of a child's healthy coping. Resilience is something we all need more than ever right now.
Resilience is a skill that can be learned and can be strengthened, just like a muscle. There is no greater skill needed at the moment than resilience. The great news is that even very young kids can start developing and applying these skills. There are specific, research-based strategies and tools that help build stronger resilience in kids, adults, and families.... And that is where I can help. As your guide, I will not only educate and create a system of accountability, but I will also support and celebrate you and your kids as you transform into your most excellent family! With stronger resilience comes higher achievement, healthier relationships, and greater satisfaction with life.
Flashbacks of moody backtalk, brace-face grins, and awkward encounters from your past creep into your mind, right? And now your very own child is about to experience the hard earned highs and many lows of middle adolescence.
If glimpses of disrespect, lack of gratitude, or harsh self-talk describe your child’s current phase and you’re not sure what to do about it, then you’re in the right place.
See, if you’re like most parents, you’re feeling torn between the pride of all your child has accomplished to get here and the dread of what is sure to come. And you’re even starting to see glimmers of it play out in real life.
Like the intensified attitudes, stressful homework loads, the crushing social rejection they might play off as nothing, and maybe even a hesitation to talk about anything with you anymore. When all of these new stressors build up, you can find yourself with a highly emotional, unmotivated, and unhappy kid… and that is exactly what you’re trying to prevent! I’m right there with you. This stage of your kiddo’s life just might be the most crucial of the parenting years.
Hi! I’m Lori, a certified Clini-Coach® and the kid’s resilience expert. I help kids build resilience to bounce back from the social and emotional challenges that can make or break middle childhood so they can believe in themselves, turn things around, and bounce forward with confidence toward their dreams. And I help parents implement simple resilience exercises in everyday moments to support the advancement of these skills within their child.
If a curious, confident, and kind tween is what you tried for, but you're now concerned you've somehow missed the mark and want to course correct, let’s get started. I equip families with the skills necessary to not only overcome challenges, but also to thrive with resilience, confidence, and optimism.
Stress will happen in your child’s life. Equipping them with the right tools will give them an edge on success.
